INDIAN MEAL MOTH

APPEARANCE:

Will be 3/8” long with a 5/8” wingspan. Adults are pale grey and rusty brown colour.

CYCLE:

Females can lay between 300 to 500 eggs in their lifetime, but only live for approximately 6 days.

HABIT AND BEHAVIOUR:

Larvae will infest a wide range of dry foods. Flying adults do not feed and are normally found resting during the day in dim lit areas.

CONFUSED FLOUR BEETLE:

APPEARANCE:

This type of beetle will be 3 to 4mm long and are reddish brown in colour.

CYCLE:

Females will lay approximately 450 eggs in their lifetime. Larvae will hatch in 5 to 12 days and are full grown in 1 to 4 months.

HABIT AND BEHAVIOUR:

They often infest items such as stored cereal, spices, coffee, and other dried goods.
